CHARACTER OF THE DAY. Sabriel from the Old Kingdom Trilogy by Garth Nix. She is the daughter of the Abhorsen—a necromancer not of the common kind, for he puts the risen dead back to rest instead of waking them up. Sabriel goes to her father’s rescue when she receives a message that the latter was in trouble, fighting against an Adept of the nine rivers of Death.
