White people, when you say things like “sit your white ass down” to another white person who’s being racist, I understand where you’re coming from. You want to call someone out while pointing to yourself as a white person who Gets It.
It makes you sound ridiculous - like you don’t realize you’re white. Like you don’t realize you could also make similar mistakes at any time because of the way white people are socialized to uphold white supremacy. You should probably just call them out without the weird self-referential-but-not-really stuff.
Yeahhh, calling out racism doesn’t make us less white. I’ve noticed this kind of thing, too.

Today I am noticeably tired/sadish because I feel like I need lots of affection and attention, which I have been lacking lately. And saying this, acknowledging it, makes me feel like I’m needy but I really think I thrive on affection/attention less than most people so when I feel that I’m lacking it, that really means I’ve gotten none.
